Is the L Train Fucked?

I created this single serving site in Feburary 2011 as a way to humorously inform New York City residents if the L line was running. Apparently this hit a nerve, amongst New York commuters. Hours after I released it, the site was featured in the Village Voice, the L Magazine, and the Gothamist.

Since creating this site, it has inspired simliar sites in different cities. This project also led me to release a tool called Sandhog for developers who want to interact with the MTA’s API using PHP.
